Since taking office in 2007, Bill Ritter has delivered on his "Colorado Promise" to help working families, business owners, and people all across Colorado. He continues to lead Colorado forward in spite of the worst economic and budget crisis in generations. Bill has worked together with lawmakers to:

• Initiate the most aggressive economic-development legislation in decades, establishing incentives for companies to create jobs, providing businesses with access to credit, and cutting taxes for tens of thousands of small businesses.
• Enact the most significant healthcare reform in 40 years, providing coverage to more than 100,000 children, pregnant women, and lower income working uninsured Coloradans while slowing the rise in health care costs, all without raising taxes.
• Create the first new sustainable funding source for transportation in nearly two decades, allowing for the repair of bridges, roads, and highways, while putting to work thousands of Coloradans.
• Advance Colorado’s globally recognized New Energy Economy, creating thousands of new jobs, making renewable energy and energy efficiency more affordable for all Coloradans, and spurring innovation and research-and-development of new technologies.
• Enact nationally recognized education reforms aimed at cutting the high school dropout rate and achievement gap in half and doubling the number of college degrees and certificates earned by Coloradans.
• Keep college affordable and accessible to all Coloradans.
• Make tough choices to balance a recession-era budget while still maintaining investments in education, healthcare, public safety and other priority services.
• Help families on the brink of losing their homes to foreclosure with more time to workout equitable solutions with mortgage lenders.
• Modernize our state budget laws linking budget growth to actual economic indicators, building a meaningful rainy day fund and investing in our future through funding of transportation and capital construction.
